Dr Pieter De Witte

Doctor

Kia Ora, I graduated as a doctor at KU Leuven and completed my family medicine training in Antwerp, Belgium. I first visited New Zealand in 2018 and worked as a GP in many different settings across the country. The past five years gave me the opportunity to get a better understanding of the New Zealand healthcare system and made me embrace the kiwi way of life.

I would consider myself to be a true generalist, but one with many special interests, ranging from minor surgery to acute and chronic care. Prior coming to Christchurch I obtained a postgraduate degree in tropical medicine and international health and was an assistant academic lecturer at the University of Ghent in clinical decision-making as I have a passion for teaching. I am very happy to call Christchurch my home and I am pleased to be part of the Barrington Medical Team. I am proficient in Dutch, English, French and Spanish.
