Dr Joseph Lau

Malaysian by birth, Chinese by descent, Kiwi by choice, I have been in New Zealand since 1995.

I studied at Burnside High and obtained my medical degree from Otago in 2002. After spending five years working in Christchurch Public Hospital in various medical specialties, I moved into General Practice and have enriched my experience by doing locum work at numerous clinics throughout Christchurch.

Following that, I am now delighted to be working amongst the friendly and supportive team at Barrington Medical Centre.

Outside of work, I am married with young children. I enjoy eating good food (including my wife's cooking), watching movies, working out at the gym and having regular games of badminton.
